Educational Consultant

Educational Consultant / Sales Account Manager - K-12 Experience

We are looking for an Educational Consultant located in Northern New Jersey.  The ideal candidate will work to develop new technology accounts in an assigned 
territory and needs to work independently, be proactive and have the ability to build relationships. This position will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts in the K-12 Education market as well as prospecting for new K-12 customers. The candidate will leverage existing relationships and network primarily with K-12 business officials to promote CIM solutions and pro-actively target the technology purchasing systems and those who influence the buying habits of individual school districts.

Requirements 

• Previous sales experience, preferably in the education markets. Candidates with experience in educational sales or with a comprehensive understanding of the inner workings of the education environment are preferred. 

• Relentless determination to seek new business opportunities within defined territory. 

• Must be able to work from home and store product. 

• Must be able travel 60-80% and be available before and after school hours.


Educational Consultant


Competencies: 

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write 
routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Having knowledge of school district finance would be a plus.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with 
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Ability to utilize MS Office, Google Docs, Go To Meeting and Company developed CRM. Ability to learn new computer programs quickly and 
easily. Having knowledge of classroom technology solutions such as student response systems and interactive technologies a plus. Candidate will need to 
demonstrate proficiency in product functionality and complete needed on-going product training.

Customer Service: Ability to serve as first line of contact with customers and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. 

Presentation / Training: Ability to coordinate daily on-site demonstrations, attend conferences and make presentations to individuals and groups that will allow 
school personnel to make a hands-on assessment of educational technology options. Ability to provide web-ex and on-site trainings to potential, new and existing customers on current products.

Work Environment : This position is based out of a home office and requires significant amounts of travel by air and automobile. Successful candidate must be 
available to meet with school administrators before and after school hours as well as meet other customer requirements. Candidate must meet monthly and quarterly goals for demonstrations completed, complete sales reporting requirements through activity logs, and must collaborate with Regional Manager to develop strategies for individual targets and large proposals.
